One item per line. Sorting language: English. Limit: 10,000 lines and 200,000 UTF-16 code units.
Copy becomes available when a result is ready. Editing inputs or options clears the previous result.
How to use this tool
Paste one item per line, choose the order and select Sort lines. Natural number order is on by default: Item 10, Item 2, Item 1 becomes Item 1, Item 2, Item 10. Turn it off to compare digit sequences as text. Ignore letter case is optional and off by default. Copy the result or use Clear to start over. Changing text or options clears the old result; sort again to update it.
Good to know
The browser sorts using English language rules on this page; Spanish and Arabic pages use their own languages. Accents remain significant; exact ordering can vary with browser language data. Lines that compare equal keep their original relative order, even when descending. Duplicates, blank lines, spaces and original spelling are preserved; this is not a duplicate remover or whitespace cleaner. Natural order compares digit runs, not signed numbers, decimal values, dates or versions mathematically. Windows, Unix and old Mac newlines are accepted. A final input newline is a terminator, not another blank record. Output uses LF between records; a blank record sorted to the end can produce a final newline. Limits are 10,000 records and 200,000 UTF-16 code units, including line endings; some emoji use multiple units. No CSV column parsing, uploads or storage.
