How to use this tool

Paste text, choose Keep paragraphs or Join all lines, and select Join lines. The separator starts as one space; empty it to join without gaps. Copy the result. Ctrl/Command + Enter works from the input field.

Good to know

Up to 200,000 characters and 10,000 input lines; separator up to 50 characters. Recognizes CRLF, CR, LF and Unicode line/paragraph separators. Blank or whitespace-only lines define paragraphs; repeated blank lines collapse to one blank line, and leading/trailing blank lines are removed. No PDF upload, OCR, hyphen repair or automatic detection of paragraph boundaries without blank lines. Inputs stay in your browser.

Clean up hard-wrapped text from PDFs and emails

If “This sentence was copied” and “across two lines.” occupy separate lines, the default settings combine them with one space. A blank line starts a new paragraph. Use Join all lines to flatten a list, and a comma plus space as the separator for a readable inline list. This produces plain text, not escaped CSV.

Line-break removal questions

Can I keep paragraph breaks?

Yes. Keep paragraphs joins nonblank lines within each block. One or more blank or whitespace-only lines become a single blank line between blocks.

What changes in Join all lines mode?

All nonblank lines are joined with your separator. Blank lines and final line terminators are discarded, so the output is one line.

Will it fix words split by a hyphen?

No. Hyphens are retained because they may be intentional. Inspect words such as inter- national after joining and correct them manually when appropriate.

Does it remove all extra spaces?

No. Optional trimming removes whitespace at each line edge. Internal spaces, punctuation and letter case are preserved. Turn trimming off to retain line-edge spaces too.
