Turn a title into a lowercase, hyphen-separated URL slug. Keep Unicode text or remove Latin accents, free and entirely in your browser.
● Your files stay yours
One title becomes one slug. Up to 10,000 UTF-16 code units. Arabic and other scripts are preserved.
Copy becomes available when a result is ready. Editing inputs or options clears the previous result.
How to use this tool
Paste a page or article title and choose Generate slug. For example, Café & Travel: 10 Simple Tips! becomes cafe-travel-10-simple-tips with Remove Latin accents enabled. Turn that option off to keep café. Copy the result into your site’s slug field. Editing the title or option clears the old result; generate again to refresh it.
Good to know
A slug is one readable part of a URL, not a complete address. This tool lowercases text and replaces runs of spaces, punctuation and symbols (including apostrophes and emoji) with a hyphen, without leading or trailing hyphens. Letters, numbers and attached combining marks from other scripts are preserved. The accent option removes decomposed marks only after Latin letters; it does not turn ß into ss or transliterate Arabic or Chinese. Unicode normalization makes equivalent accented spellings consistent. Input is limited to 10,000 UTF-16 code units; some emoji use more than one. Text with no letters or numbers cannot produce a slug. Output is not percent-encoded, does not check for duplicate or reserved slugs, and does not guarantee search rankings. Check your publishing system’s character and length rules before use.
