Choose an MP4 containing an audio track, select 128, 192 or 320 kbps and choose Convert audio. The video is discarded; the browser decodes the audio and a local worker encodes MP3. Listen with the playback controls, then download. The built-in example is a two-second tone. Cancel stops encoding and discards output; changing settings clears the old download.
Good to know
Limit: 25 MiB input and 2 minutes of mono/stereo audio. MP4 is a container: AAC audio is a useful starting point, but support varies by browser and codec. Silent video, DRM and unsupported codecs cannot be converted. The browser chooses the audio track; there is no track selector. Audio is resampled to 44.1 kHz; MP3 is lossy and higher bitrate cannot restore missing detail. Metadata, artwork and video are not retained. Decoding loads the whole file; duration/channel checks happen after decoding, so large decoded data can exhaust memory. Native decoding cannot be forcibly interrupted; after cancelling, wait for it to finish. Encoding stops after two minutes of processing. No uploads, recording, trimming or video-to-video conversion.
