How to use this tool

Open the whiteboard, choose a shape or freehand tool, and drag on the canvas. Double-click a shape to label it. Connect shapes with arrows, select several objects to group or align them, and use the style panel to change colors and strokes. Start from a template or open an editable .excalidraw file. Save your drawing before leaving.

Good to know

This independent JustFreeTools workspace uses the MIT-licensed Excalidraw engine; it is not affiliated with Excalidraw. It offers local individual drawing, not live collaboration, cloud storage, shared links or AI. Drawings are not autosaved: download an editable file to keep your work. External embeds and library browsing are disabled. Large drawings and image exports depend on device memory. Keyboard shortcuts and touch gestures are provided by the editor; desktop gives the most room.

When to choose this Excalidraw alternative

Choose this workspace for personal diagrams, quick explanations, flowcharts and wireframes alongside the rest of JustFreeTools. It uses the same open-source drawing engine rather than a separate imitation, so many controls will feel familiar. Excalidraw.com remains a good choice for its own hosted workflow; our distinction is an independent, local-file-focused workspace with ready-made starters and multilingual guidance.

An alternative to Miro or Lucidchart for simple sketches

For a quick solo brainstorm, mind map or informal process diagram, this free whiteboard can replace a heavier workspace. It is not a replacement for team administration, live collaboration, formal diagram validation, enterprise integrations or cloud history. We do not import proprietary Miro, Lucidchart, Visio or draw.io documents.

Whiteboard questions

Is this free without an account?

Yes. There is no subscription, payment, watermark or sign-in required.

Can I move drawings between this and Excalidraw?

You can open and save .excalidraw scene files. Our explicit file opener accepts up to 15 MiB and 2,000 elements and rejects remote image references. Save a copy when moving between editor versions.

Where are my drawings saved?

In the current tab until you download an editable file. Closing or reloading can lose unsaved work. There is no server upload or automatic browser-storage backup.

Can a team edit together?

Not in this workspace. Share exported files yourself; real-time collaboration is not included.
