JSON Lines (also called newline-delimited JSON or NDJSON) requires a complete JSON value per line. Blank lines are errors; a final LF or CRLF is accepted. Escaped newlines inside strings stay escaped. JSONL output ends with LF; JSON output places one compact element per line. Number spelling, string escapes, property order and duplicate keys are preserved; duplicate keys may be interpreted differently by downstream software. UTF-8 without BOM only. An empty JSON array becomes an empty JSONL download, and an empty JSONL input becomes []. No comments, trailing commas, compressed files or streaming. Limits: 1 MiB files, 1,048,576 UTF-16 input units, 10,000 records and 100 nesting levels including the array wrapper. All processing stays on your device.
