Choose Standard Base64 or URL-safe Base64url. Enter text and choose Encode, or paste encoded text and choose Decode. Copy the result. For example, hello becomes aGVsbG8= in standard mode and aGVsbG8 in URL-safe mode. Both decode to hello with the appropriate variant selected.
Standard Base64 uses + and /; Base64url uses - and _. Standard output includes = padding and URL-safe output omits it. Decoding accepts optional valid padding and ignores whitespace. Incorrect padding, mixed alphabets, nonzero unused bits, and non-UTF-8 data are rejected. This is a text tool, not a binary file decoder or a complete JWT decoder. Base64 is encoding, not encryption; it does not protect secrets or verify signatures.
